Three Generations of Service
It's a Family Tradition
Eighty-six years and three generations ago, Claude Van Hook, Sr. recognized the need for quality residential care for people with developmental disabilities.
In response to this need, he founded the Van Hook School of Sea Isle, New Jersey. Determined to avoid an institutional atmosphere, Mr. Van Hook provided residents with a warm, family-like environment and began a tradition that continues today.
In 1954, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Van Hook, Jr. established their facility and continued the tradition until 1983. At that time, their son, Gregory Van Hook, continuing a lifelong involvement in the school and with its residents, became the Administrator.
In 1990, Gregory and his wife, Lynda, established Van Hook, Inc. in Maryville, Tennessee and the tradition continues.
